Schools First Award

The team at Centreforce is extremely excited to announce the receipt of a Schools First Seed Funding Award worth $25000. in partnership with Flinders Christian Community College. The applications were of high quality, therefore to be selected as one of the 108 winners in 2010 was no mean feat.

Centreforce Director Murray Payne

The public announcement of your award took place on 20th September, were we shared the news of this exciting award with staff at the school and with Centreforce as the  community partner. Almost 1200 staff and students welcome staff from Centreforce and the NAB to the handover of the giant cheque. A large morning tea and celebratory cake were enjoyed as the celebrations continued.

Over the past 3 years Murray has liaised and collaborated with Ms Jillian Hudson and the students from FCCC to establish a relationship that has seen the development of a system that hands over the production of the school magazine to the students and staff of the college whilst giving them the professional guidance that they require.

The seed funding will set the stage for a very exciting development in the process of the delivery of this service. With the introduction of interactive white boards, short throw projectors and high speed broad band web cams, Centreforce and FCCC will work hand in hand on an online provision of the design support.

With remote controlled web cams, on screen advice and real time deadlines and responses students will be privvy to all the workings of a professional design studio from the privacy of their classroom.

Whilst only in the planning stages for the upcoming magazine we hope that the technology and the project will allow us to leverage many more schools and services to the surrounding community.

We are all very excited at the possibilities and are looking forward to seeing the results!
